A question: how do I know what the IP of the Peer is for my ADSL?
From the interface list or the routing table. Here it is, for example, in output you provided in an earlier message:

30: ppp0: <POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST,NOARP,UP> mtu 1492 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 3
link/ppp
inet 216.75.174.78 peer 64.39.160.16/32 scope global ppp0

The same address is *probably* also your default gateway (check with "netstat -nr").
