I assume they are compatible and it should even be easy to configure shorewall to pass the traffic through. I'll be setting up keepalived to authenticate to the other VRRP server via crossover-heartbeat to another LRP flash box using IPSEC-AH. If I'm not mistaken IPSEC-AH is protocol 51.
