What's running DNS service on either/both networks? Another quick test.... connect a *NIX/Samba work station, a Win 98/ME, or a Win2k/XP 'Home" edition box to your local network and attempt a transfer across the tunnel. I think this is a M$ DNS problem. > While I'm at it, do I want the tcpdump for eth1 or ipsec0 (I assume not > ppp0 since it's all encrypted, but wasn't sure.) The tunnel isn't run through eth1, you'll need to use ipsec0/ > Another note I wanted to repeat just in case it was important and > overlooked in my 1st message of this lengthy thread. That's probably because xDSL uses a MTU of 1492 to account for encryption latency. -- ~Lynn Avants Linux Embedded Appliance Firewall developer http://leaf.sourceforge.net ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: FREE SSL Guide from Thawte are you planning your Web Server Security?
