What's running DNS service on either/both networks?
Another quick test.... connect a *NIX/Samba work station, a Win 98/ME, or
a Win2k/XP 'Home" edition box to your local network and attempt a transfer
across the tunnel. I think this is a M$ DNS problem.

The tunnel isn't run through eth1, you'll need to use ipsec0/

That's probably because xDSL uses a MTU of 1492 to account for encryption
latency.
