I see..

I love to contribute any applications ( related to
firewall/router/gateway/security ) for LEAF, but i need some guide on how to
packages an applications ( yes i know it just a compresses file -upx ) .
These wonderful project shouldn't have a limit to grow actually. I had
follow these project for some times, but still couldn't find any manual on
how to packages an applications for LEAF. Let say i need logsentry to run on
my LEAF box, what the step should i take? (starting from compile the source
code file into working LEAF .lrp files for distribute?) i have ask this a
couple of times, but till now, still got no answer :( i guess nobody have
time to write up the development process on how they produces an aplications
for LEAF or maybe i miss the link for it. Of course for logsentry to work
for me, i just copy all the configurations files, logtail and all it's
libraries ( by issue ldd ) from working distro into LEAF box ( Bering 1.0 )
since its just a scripts, then i modify ???.list file to include all the
binary related to logsentry ( logtail ), modify etc.list files to include
all the logsentry configurations files, run lrcfg and backup ??? + etc
packages, but how about the other applications which required more stuff
such as squid or snort? Could i used the same technique for Bering uClibc?

Totally agree, so the user especially newbie don't felt so frustrating and
make a quick decisions that LEAF don't work for them or to hard to manages
instead of GREAT WONDERFUL firewall router I ever used.

By then, Thanks for your quick reply, I REALLY APPRECIATES its.
I'm using Bering series ( 1.0RC? - 1.2 ) before and try to move to newly
Bering uClibc. Sorry for the broken english, it wasn't my primary language.

Thanks for the good project and keep up the good works :)

Regards,
ijez
