Thanks for the suggestion, I modified syslinux.cfg from Win95 but
no difference so far...
Unfortunately the 755 lacks a HD...
Actually I did report a wrong error message, it should read:
<snip>
VFS: Mounted root (minix filesystem).
Mounting a 6M TMPFS filesystem...
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:2c (floppy), sector 2
MINIx-fs unable to read superblock
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
LINUXRC: Could not mount the boot device. Can't install packages.
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!
and it will freeze with 2 leds blinking (one looks like a pine tree the other
like a square with up-down arrows inside)
I've found in floppy.c
static void request_done(int uptodate)
.
.
end_request(0);
.
.
where I suppose it gets the error from FDC and prints it
Can anyone help please ?
roberto
PS: the floppy disk boots fine on a thinkpad 380D and
the 755C floppy drive is ok
