LOGFILE (/var/log/shorewall.log) does not exist! and shorewall stops (abends) there.
I had that problem some days ago and was thinking about posting it on this list.
What I did: Changing the logfile in shorewall, but not changing syslog !
So shorewall searches that logfile, but does not find it and stops.
Is it really neccessary to stop shorewall ? Shorewall does its job fine, if an empty logfile exists !
I simply did a "touch /var/log/shorewall".
I submit shorewall to create an empty one by itself, if it does not exist.
I don't see necessity to stop that service shorewall.
Shorewall as I release it doesn't work this way -- my version could care less if log files exist or not.
