By the way, NetMeeting works fine on the local LAN and also via VPN when we can establish a VPN connection.


According to what I read on the Netfilter list, the H323 conntrack/nat module is a toy that no one on the Netfilter team is willing to support currently (it basically needs to have an H323 parser embedded in the kernel). It is my understanding that if you want reliable Netmeeting operation behind a Linux firewall, you need to implement a user-space gatekeeper such as http://sourceforge.net/projects/openh323proxy/
