A possibility that *should* work, though I haven't gotten around to it
is the SD cards. The all-in-one USB readers will take them, but I 
haven't seen an IDE adapter as of a year or so ago. SD should be
cheaper than any of the memory sticks. Keep in mind any of the
USB devices will need to be configured as SCSI devices and there
was some successful messages in the mailing-list archives that
pretty much take the setup process step-by-step.
