Greetings the list, I'm seeking for clues as to the frequent disconnects from the internet that we're experiencing. Although 'persist' is amongst the options listed in /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider we sometimes lose connection on ppp0 - especially when users try to access hotmail or yahoo email accounts.
Is this a shorewall settings issue? or does it relate to the speedtouch USB modem which always starts up with the following errors in syslog: Oct 19 18:50:01 firewall modem_run[32542]: Error reading interrupts Oct 19 18:50:11 firewall kernel: usb.c: USB device 32 (vend/prod 0x6b9/0x4061) is not claimed by any active driver.
