Hi Werner,

I don't really have a clue. I know the persist option works correct 
with pppoe and pppoatm, so the most obvious is to blame the 
speedtouch module.
You can also try to tune the pppd 'maxfail' option.
If this doesn't work, it's maybe the best to post the question on the 
speedtouch list. I don't think a lot of leaf users use a speedtouch 
modem.
