Ahh, well, I suppose one could become confused. The basic idea of LEAF is to function as a separate router/gateway/firewall. One dedicates some old box as a "go between" access point to the internet. That's where LEAF runs. For your SUSE-10 you have IPTABLES which will function as a local firewall for your system, once you tell it what's allowed and what isn't. And before you ask, yes, it is a good idea to run a firewall on your workstation, AND a separate, dedicated peripheral firewall. A LEAF firewall has no tools on it that could assist an invader to take control.
