Hello All,

I've seen this question ask before, but with very sketchy details.

I'm trying to set up a machine to build wisp-dist. So far, I have managed to
get a uml environment working. I have also installed a working copy of
wisp-dist on a soekris 4521. I have been trying to piece together the build
environment with out much luck. I would sincerely appreciate any help or
guidance anyone could give me to get started. I've included my setup below.

Host Machine
==========

Intel x86
redhat linux 7.3 (2.4.20-24)
uml utilities 20030312-1
uml kernel 2.4.18-45
root-fs-slink
root-fs-woody

I've located the following files:

build-scripts.tar.gz
src-user-progs.tar.gz
src-kernel-2.4.20.tar.gz
upload-wdist.tar.gz

Specific Questions
==============

1. Isn't there supposed to be a src-modules.tar.gz ? If not, what modules do
I need to build the latest release?

2. What is the order of steps necessary to simply build the latest release ?
>From what I can gather from reading the build scripts I would do the
following:

a) cd to linux-dist under the kernel tree
b) make clean dep bzImage modules modules_install
c) cd to other directories under kernel directory and make
d) run populate_modules.sh
e) cd to user_progs
f) make
g) run mount-wcpe
h) run prepare-img
i) run unmount-wcpe

3. Where can I find the source code for wdistconfig?

4. What is the build tree directory structure? I have the following so far:

build
--user-progs
----<src-pkg>
--kernel
----<src-pkg>
----linux-wdist
----modules
--WISP-iso
----isolinux

I'm willing to try to figure stuff out for myself, but it sure would help if
someone would be willing to fill in a few of the holes for me. I'd just like
to know if I'm headed in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,
Gerry
