I built NoCatSplash for an install last summer, but didn't really package it. (I put it in /usr/local and let 'wdistbackup' back it up.) I statically linked glib for the threading, but I haven't have total success with it. I haven't updated, but unless there has been work in CVS that I haven't noticed, it's hardly seen any work. I found it would work somewhat reliably only if I started it with 'strace', sending the output to /dev/null. It would not read image files from tmpfs or cramfs filesystems, so they're located on an external server. It would not complete the necessary HTTP protocol conversation if the content of the AUP was actually included in the form that is submitted via CGI when the user clicks the 'I agree' button. http://lists.nocat.net/pipermail/nocat/2003-July/003454.html I found more things out after the message above, but I don't recall exactly what they were.
