I was too hasty in making my assessment of the signal dropout problem. It is still dropping out after 5-10 minutes even with a strong signal/strong link. The firmware upgrade appears not to have made a significant difference.
Again, both the AP and laptop are running Teletronics 200mW cards with ver.1.56 firmware.
