I have been trying to use a more recent version of Wisp-Dist on my
Soekris net4521. So far the latest version I have been successful in
installing and running is wisp_2134. I tried downloading and installing
the following versions:
wisp-dist_1.3.1p24_pkg.zip
wisp-dist_2624_img_wdist.bin
wisp-dist_2624_pkg_wdist.zip
With the bin image I did a simple dd if=wisp-dist_xx of=/dev/sda
With the zip images I created partition 1 using fdisk, set it to type 1
= FAT12 and made it bootable. After writing the new partition table to
the cf and exiting I created the filesystem using:
mkfs.msdos /dev/sda1
When I insert the cf in the Soekris it boots, but then gives a kernel
panic as follows:

I get the same results whether I am using a Viking 16mb CF or a Sandisk
256mb CF. When I install version 2134 everything installs and boots up
just fine. I don't know what is different about the later versions, but
they do not like my particular net4521.
