Can you send the ouput produce before the kernel panic ?

I'm not sure but i had tried to do the same thing with my old debian-woody
and it seems like FAT12 produce by the mkdosfs is buggy. Try to upgrade your
version of mkdosfs to build FAT16 partition, it works for me !
