Similar to our polar regions where whales scoff krill all summer long! A bit more mass -> bit more atmospheric pressure, and ok maybe a bit closer to the Sun... Of course, life may have flourished on Mars 3 billion years ago and then the Martians introduced the leap hour and the rest is pre-history... Pete.
