John, Thanks very much for your quick response!
I am building a whole list of things that are not right about the ledger3.texi file and things I've noticed are different from 2.6.2. I'm trying to meet a deadline for our accountants (which is what precipitated my Ledger 3.x switch), so I can't stop to document better now, but I'll hope to give a series of patches after my deadline has been met to improve the docs in ledger3.texi and add stuff to the "changes since 2.6.x" section. I've added this issue: > Ledger 3 doesn't use one-letter format characters, or %[] anymore. It > uses the more universal %(valexpr) syntax. For example, %(date). ... to my list. > Until valexprs are fully documented, I recommend looking in > src/report.h, to find examples that are similar to what you might want > to do. I'll also try to put together a patch to ledger3.texi that documents some of this. FWIW, I've put the list in my gitorious repository for ledger: https://gitorious.org/ledger/ledger/blobs/notes-on-2-6-2-to-3-changes/doc/changes-list-from-2-6-2.txt It's rough, just notes to remind me what I encountered for now. -- bkuhn
