If we use an assert to establish the balance of an account (ignoring the data confusion in the other thread) the behavior of the balance is unexpected (for me):
If the amount in an account is a mixed commodity (say some mixture of dollars and shares) and you sent the amount if the account to a specific value say Asset:Investments = 0 VIFSX, it ignores the OTHER commodities. It seems to me the the assertion should be like an assignment so if there are other commodities in the account but not specified in the assertion they should be set to zero.
