I have moved from 2.6 to 3.0 some time ago now, but as far as I can 
remember, I have not encountered any major issue.
There are two types of differences between 2.6 to 3.0
- file format : I would be ready to bet that any ledger data that is in 2.6 
format is readable by ledger 3.0.
- ledger executable functionalities : Ledger 3 has much more 
functionalities than 2.6. Allmost all has been ported to 3.0. Except OFX 
support, and Gnucash file format support (I will add this to 
documentation). Some (single letter value expression, and some env 
variable) have been ported but deprecated.
