Hello!

I'm a relatively new user of ledger, and have been really happy with it so
far, but have recently encountered a strange issue with how accounts are
sorted in the balance report that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on.

I'm trying to generate a report showing my expense accounts sorted by their
totals, like this:

$ ledger bal -S amount ^expenses

I get back a list of accounts that appears only partially sorted. I have
about 45 expense accounts, and they appear in the output of the above
command in 'chunks', each of which appears to be sorted internally, but
which are not sorted relative to each other. Here's an example portion of
the output, with the account names removed:

         $85,978.770 Expenses
            $202.710
             $15.000
             $21.000
            $300.000
            $333.440
            $369.520
            $387.250
            $476.880
            $500.000
            $550.000
            $577.190
            $623.150
            $724.700
          $1,099.900
          $3,415.960
          $8,335.000
            $242.160
              $1.990
             $46.600
             $50.850
            $103.340
            $112.000
            $149.850
            $151.000

Any idea what might be causing this or how to debug further? I can try to
put together a minimized example file but I figured I'd check if there was
anything obvious first.

Thanks!
Ben
