Now, I don't think we necessarily want to integrate regarding city names
yet) but the overall question is whether it would be helpful to use the
data from geonames (possibly with updates as the world changes) for
countries and states/provinces? This should allow us better validation and
the like, and we could do something autocomplete-wise for provinces.

My thinking is we could break this off into a separate PostgreSQL
extension, replacing our current countries list, bundle it with our
software, package it, and the like. I believe we could also include postal
codes from around the world.
