Although I'm generally in favour of anything that is likely to improve
data quality (you'd be amazed at the number of customers who don't seem
to know their own post code), how would we handle the licensing issue.
Geonames would really like payment for commercial use.

My thinking is we could break this off into a separate PostgreSQL
extension, replacing our current countries list, bundle it with our
software, package it, and the like. I believe we could also include
postal codes from around the world.
