Guy, you don't need to be a genius to predict the
top 5 of the Premier on the basis of weekly scores.
Amateur, as I am, I am about to place a bet on "any 5
from 8". No science, no methodology, as such, just a
glance at the likely squads and comparisons with the
remainder.

Now, ask me to predict the actual placings and I would be
taking a wild guess. However, if someone paid me for my
"opinion", I would gamble on the proviso it was a flexible
and an ongoing "opinion" based on results and "possible"
trends.

If your friend was anywhere near accurate surely fortunes would
be made on backing the predictions. I think not!

At this moment, to predict LU as 19th at the finish is as safe
as houses. Should LU win their next 3 matches where would that
put them ? Just out of interest, where did your friend predict
Millwall at midnight last Friday ?

Anyhow, good to see you back in "harness / action". I hope you have
recovered from all your misfortunes.

Regards, Michael (D's D)

Quote from Guy

If we look at the Premier League for this season, we predicted a two horse
race and nothing
has happened to change this. The likelihood of winning the title is shown
in the graph below
which has been plotted since the beginning of August. United went above
Chelsea when
they beat them in the Community Shield but dropped back below after last
weekend's draw
  at Fulham.
