Somewhat of a fans favourite I know (must be the hair), but am I the only one
who thinks it's becoming increasingly apparent that Luciano Becchio is a bit
gash? I'm not just basing this on tonight's performance (although for me he was
definitely one of our worst players); I've thought it a lot after seeing him
play. Vastly overrated by a lot I've spoken to, and from what I read on here a
lot of the time.
Yes, he scores the odd goal... and yes, he puts himself about and is strong in
the air about 30% of the time (on a good day). However, I think it's obvious to
see that, for the large part, he's got the touch of a rapist and the awareness
of a lemming.
Davide Somma looks twice the player already - when he receives the ball at his
feet he controls it, composes himself well and chooses the right option.
Becchio
seems to treat the ball like some sort of giant, too-hot-to-touch bouncy ball
and loses possession by choosing the wrong option.
Sorry Becchio lovers - I know there's a hell of a lot of you, but I think the
time has come... at least for the moment.
