As Max Boyce was wont to say "I know, 'cos I was there..."

Yes, I was there that night - stood on one of those little wooden steps that
dads used to make in those days for their lads to stand on, and was
somewhere in the middle of the Lowfields Road terracing.

We had no idea what had happened, to us there simply seemed to be a huge
surge, Dad hung on to me (I was only 12 years old then) and we rode the
storm, though I don't recall it as such.

I did lose my step however, but as things settled down in the crowd, someone
called out that they had found one, yes it was mine and 50 yards from where
we now were!

Try as I might I can't really remember much more than that
