I've covered some incompetent and rotten businesses in my time but I don't think I've ever seen any CEO as out of touch as Ridsdale was. Zero risk management, no idea how to balance the books and a lack of market knowledge that was frightening - like offering players wages three times even their agents' expectations. A lifetime ban from football would have been a lenient punishment. Jail would have been about right. The tw*t even engineered himself a £600k payoff instead of being sacked for gross misconduct. To defend Ridsdale is to defend the indefensible. M
