>From the Independent:
It was not all Jermaine Beckford's fault that Everton succumbed to their heaviest Premier League home defeat for 15 months. Yet there is no disguising the fact. The former Leeds United forward's move to Merseyside is descending into a nightmare just six months after he signed a four-year contract. He scored 31 goals for Leeds last season but the huge leap from League One to the top flight has proved a daunting one so far for Beckford, who has just one League goal to his name. Sent on early in the second half with Everton trailing West Bromwich Albion 2-1, Beckford scorned a string of opportunities and by the end his confidence looked shot. "Let's be fair to him, we weren't getting any chances before he came on, and after he did, we had lots," said the Everton manager, _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER
