Spurs have said they want him to go out on loan for a month or so to regain
match fitness. Not sure what the rules are for monthly loans between premier
league clubs so he might consider a club near the top of the championship.
They will probably not ask for much of his wages as it's a fitness issue not
an offload for wages.

 Woodgate's a much better player than Smith. On form, he's world class. If
we could get him on a pay as you play deal, I don't see where the risk would
be (and I bet Spurs would pay some of his wages - they clearly are eager for
him to get some match practice).
