It is but it does do your head when words are not just abbreviated
(vowels removed) but are spelt phonetically... 
 
When did they stop teaching english grammar in the british school
system? 
 
At least in Norn Irn in my time (secondary school from '84), we were not
at any point taught english grammar (although my school was a hybrid
comprehensive/grammar school so may not be typical), and I've no idea if
it was taught in the Republic. 
 
I only started to learn english grammar when I started learning to speak
Spanish - and not knowing my own grammar was the single biggest obstacle
I had in the learning process. 
 
Bring it back I say... and 3pts tomorrow at 5pm UK time too would be
nice.
