We should be able to make jokes about and laugh at ANY subject, as long as we aren't trying to deliberately upset someone else, in which case it is a judgement call for you personally whether you want to offend or risk offence. Rob wasn't complaining because he thought it was actually inappropriate (I don't recall him jumping in when we have the "Is Thatcher dead yet?" comments), he was complaining because he was asked not to make personal jibes at Mike. Mike's joke wasn't aimed directly at Rob, or indeed anyone, and the only way Rob could have genuinely found it upsetting or offensive is if he is actually now a married woman who is or was beaten. Even then it isn't the same unless Rob is suggesting that Mike knew that and it was a direct dig at him. I agree with Betty, the sooner those 2 get pissed together the better.
