Just making my way through the reviews, but wanted to add that on a rare afternoon at ER I was thrilled with the match yesterday. Could have been 6-6, and obviously disappointed not to have snatched it at the end, but (to wear out a cliche) football was the winner. Just sad that entertaining matches like that seem to fly past so quickly.
One tactical point (forgive me if this has already been made), but with a five-man midfield, I was surprised that Wes Hoolahan wasn't man-marked. He was clearly the puppetmaster for Norwich - as my Canaries-supporting mate who was sat *very quietly* next to me in the West Stand pointed out. If he'd been nullified, I think we'd have strolled past them. If you're going to play 4-5-1, which is great for freeing up Max and Snoddy to rampage down the wings, can't see why sticking (say) Johnson on their playmaker is a bad idea. Also, I really liked Lichaj at Bristol last weekend, very excited to see a decent FB in white. But he needs to speed up his adoption of the tactics. A couple of times Snoddy was telling him exactly where to go yesterday, pointing and beckoning him up. That's fine given he's just arrived - but the lad is clearly capable for more forward runs, and more than once he was found wanting on the overlap. Needs to get into the groove soon - we need six from the next two games...
