Just read the reviews. Agree with RW that Becchio is slow, never wins
headers and lacks a decent touch. But, as someone else pointed out, his
positioning is great and he's an annoying bugger for the opposition defence
which creates space, especially for the wingers. That dance after the goal
though - twattish.

Also noted criticism of our defence. I agree - both opposition goals were
scored by players with a five-yard radius of space inside our box. Not good
enough. But... I think back five months and I'm actually perfectly happy
with how our first-choice defensive line is working.

Missing out on three points I think tells us we're unlikely to get automatic
promotion now. But the play-offs look possible, and I'm a lot less
intimidated about coping with Premier League football (if we fluke it... so
not, then) that I ever dreamed I might be back in October.

In other news, did anyone hear The Square Ball podcast on players' wages?
All hearsay, natch, but Kasper apparently our highest-paid player on
£16,000. (A week, I should add.) Good. He's still learning, but he's already
an outstanding 'keeper (another couple of great saves yesterday) and we need
to give him plenty of reasons to stay at this level at least one more year
if we don't get promoted.
