I've had good experience with the apple refurbished models for my work. Apple does do a lot for schools and education but are quite strict about who's eligible I believe.Also, I know you excel spreadsheet anoraks will kill me for this but Mac's numbers program is much more visually flexible than excel and if you're not doing serious number crunching it does all the stuff most people use excel for. I really like the fact you can have a number of movable tables on one sheet. Jeremy
