And also because as an ex player he was still heavily involved in the game, especially over things like FA Tribunals and advising players. I think people are wrong to underestimate the contribution someone with Peter's experience could bring to the game, the same goes for Sir Eddy. If Krasner did one shrewd thing it was buying in that experience with an ex-player with peter's experience of a particular aspect of the game, something Ridsdale should also have done as we might then have seen a more sensible wages structure if he's had good counsel available (and if the short arsed gitbag had taken it on board)
