As an aside to this, does anyone remember the first National Lottery draw all those years ago - if I remember the prize was around £7 million and one of the main topics of conversation was "what would you do with all that money ?" to whch the reply was along the lines of "i'd buy Leeds/Chelsea/Man U/team of choice", now winning £150 million would make you as rich as the owner of Huddersfield Town..... who says money hasn't changed football ?

Ok Norwich ruined our achievement by actually going up but they spent nothing too but look at Boro, spent a fortune on players and wages did nowt. Like I said earlier if the smith, woodgate, bowyer rumours were true they would have cost a fortune by our standards. We have just got to wait and see come first day of the season I want to see these 4 decent signings, no shit loan players and a decent blended team. Oh and Marcus Evans house cost half what Bates is worth.. Bates isn't in his league. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sean Emmott Sent: 08 July 2011 22:25 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] Oh dear AKA Trouble at Mill On 08/07/2011 19:18, Matt Anderson wrote: > Yes, lets go bust again and see if we can make League 2 this time > > Because obviously, a club with an average gate of 25,000 will immediately go bust if it spends money on any players ever. I agree that spending money on a player doesn't necessarily mean that he'll be better than a free signing, but if you're prepared to spend on players then you have a bigger range of players to pick from and you'll increase your chances of getting a player that will improve your team. And as for Ipswich being bankrolled by a multi-millionaire, well Bates is a multimillionaire too! Matt, don't you get tired of forking out for some of the most expensive football tickets in the country yet not seeing that outlay invested in the playing side of the club? _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER (There's it) ----- No virus found in this message.
