I have jailbroken my ipod4 and the missus iphone4. The latter she wanted to
use "properly" so I reflashed the firmware using itunes with no problem.

My ipod, still jailbroken, is recognised in itunes, although I use other
software to copy music to it.

I assume you have tried the holding the home button and the power button to
re-spring it?

You might also need to have the latest itunes if the older ones don’t work.

in the past I d recommend jailbreak however I went to that webssite and my
phone we jailbroken, easy as. never been this easy.
maybe TOO easy.

however now itunes wont recognize it and I cant upload anything on my phone.
I ve tried to restore it, but given that USB seems to be shagged its not
happening. basically, I ve put myself in a complex situation and I ll have
to go online and ask for help now.

So jailbreak at your own risk.
