Funny, I thought we deserved them, but were lucky to get them (if that's not an oxymoron). We didn't deserve them because we were good, but I thought we were better than Brizzle.

Most of them were poor today. My lad gave MOTM to Lonergan for saving the pen and a basically sound display, but it was his poor kick that lead to their penalty and although Kisnorbo was busy pointing and not paying attention to the ball, Lonergan's penalty save made up for his initial error, albeit at the cost of a red card. I thought Aidy White was MOTM.

The following were poor today:
O'Dea
Howson (best of this bunch though)
Snodgrass
Nunez - I would put him on the bench - more of that anon
Becchio
Forssell

The following were middling:
Lees
McCormack
Keogh
Kisnorbo
Bromby

These chaps played well
Clayton
White (MOTM for me)
Lonergan

Duncan Castles has said on his Twitter that after Carling Cup Tuesday we are signing Danny Pugh on loan to sign permanently for £500k in January. We got him for nowt last time!

Assuming we do get Pugh, I'd want to play him at left back and put White on the left wing. Then Nunez can come on from the bench. I don't really rate him - at the moment he looks like he doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing at all. Is this because of the position he's in, or is he just not that good? In the first half some of his passing and control was shocking (although I think it was his pass to Snodgrass that lead to our first goal), in the second he had a couple of good runs, but still looked like he was on his heels a lot of the time.

Keogh I don't know about. He should have had a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes, but worked his bopllox off and linked play well.

As for the defence, I just don't know. I don't know what Connolly has done wrong. He's looked steady but unspectacular to me. Likewise Bromby has looked OK at centre half. Maybe Connolly,Lees, Bromby,Pugh would provide a reasobale blend of youth and experience?

Still, we were unlucky to loase against 'boro and Ipswich, so maybe the last two results are compensating for that!
