Rob - I don't think we are saying that the new back four are the answer ( I am certainly not) What I am saying is that they deserve a chance to show that they might be !All the others - O'Brien, Bruce, Bromby and Kisnorbo have had a decent go at centre half and been found very much wanting.Everyone - including Grayson - agrees that Lees is a centre back and not a right back , and that on occasion he has been found out at right back. We had not kept a clean sheet all season and have shipped in lots of goals. Some of us wanted to see whether Lees could do better than the others at CB, and whether Connolly could reproduce his mainly decent performances from last season, and so argued beforehand that Grayson should go with the back four that he did indeed pick on Sat.Yes, we still needed Longeran to pull off a couple of saves and, yes, they missed a decent chance or two BUT overall we looked Ok. At some stage we need to get a settled back line - all the (deserved) chopping and changes is not good for any defensive unit - so why not give the back four from Sat a decent run at it - The one good thing is that with O'Dea and Lees at centre half and not left and right back as they have been, we are playing people in their correct positions - Connolly IS a right back and White IS a left back (albeit he may end up left wing / left midfield)So it is square pegs in square holes and starts on the back of a clean sheet - with two young Leeds lads who will have the crowd on their side and not on their backs should they make mistakes Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
