Actually, it seems the Royal Engineers also had a grenade badge, the difference was the number of flames, and although it is difficult to tell from the picture it may actually be Royal Engineers (which had more flames than the Artillery badge).

Vincent Tritschler, from Newcastle, was killed just as the war began. He was my mother's brother....and with Mom long gone, I can't find anyone to help, with me being in Canada, its that more difficult. I'd like to find his regiment so I can offer the authorities something to go on. I'm putting a picture of him on here to see if any of you can do the trick.
