The ten year old boy on Gary Speed's beaming shoulders in the picture is > now a 31 year old man, and the picture is proudly mounted in his hallway.... Totally agree with your first point. I'd like to know, not 'cos I'm nosey or interfering (sp?) but because it could help someone else if they found themselves in a similar situation (whatever that was). I can't begin to imagine what turmoil he must have been in. Your own personal point is just another great story in the long list that seems to be there. I'm amazed that so many people have lovely personal stories to tell about him. I never met the man but like everyone else, had total admiration and respect for him as a "proper" professional footballer. I don't think I've ever witnessed the amount of love and admiration for any other "celebrity", let alone footballer. It certainly will be a strange, emotional day on Saturday. I personally would prefer a minutes silence as I find it better for someone you want to think about etc. this could then be followed by a minutes applause - along with a big-screen montage - to celebrate him. Whatever they decide, I'm sure it will be fitting and I'll be glad to be there. Still can't believe it. God knows how his family and close friends are managing. Hope you've found peace Gary.
