That's what this list is all about I am afraid, having discussions/debates, have you ever been to rec.sport.soccer?
The pub analogy is the best one - if you were in a pub with a group of people, chewing the fat and discussing the match, or whatever, would you oppose differences of opinion, even if it was "for arguments sake"? The problem arises when any attempt at putting forward an alternative opinion, or a thought for discussion, gets met with outright abuse. If you would like match reports could I suggest leedsunited.com or using newsnow, you'll get 10 or 20 per match. Or alternatively, if it is just one sided opinion/rants/reports why don't you ask the author to start using twitter. The rest of us can continue to use this list as it always was intended, a DISCUSSION list, not a broadcast medium where we are forced to listen and not allowed to speak if it dares contradict. As I said previously, the irony of all this seems to be lost on some. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Simon McNally Sent: 15 February 2012 21:04 To: 'Richard Walker'; 'John Boocock'; [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] LISTOWNING PLEASE READ NOW I think others need to take a long hard look at themselves - there has become too much of an element on the list of disagreeing with someone else just for the sake of it. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
