I think the fact that it nealy kicked off in the bus queue post match when one lad pointed out the fact that we had lost and a couple of others wanted to smack him, summed up todays game. We beat Ipswich and Doncaster and i came away unhappy or at least discontented whereas today I came away well pleased with the team. Despite the fact that we were losing at half time and lost at full time, the crowd ,almost to a man , gave the players a proper ovation.
Most of you will have seen it on TV so there is no point in going on about indidual incidents, suffice to say, we gave it everything from the first minute to the last, and apart from a bit of slack defending that cost us the goal, we dominated the whole game , and it is a travesty that we came away with nothing for our efforts. Their keeper (and the woodwork) kept us at bay and vied for man of the match. Brown showed what he is capable of - why could he not do this under Grayson- and Webber showed that if he can stay fit he can be a real star for us. White on the right hand side did not really work and some of our finishing left a bit to be desired, but this was one of our best performances of the season and if we can replicate this week in week out we will win a lot more games than we lose All in all a great display and with a bit of luck or a few refereeing decision going our way , we would have had 3 points against the top of the league. I got a text at the final whistle from my non Leeds supporting brother saying who watched it on TV " not sure how you lost that" and it is hard to disagree with that ! To sum up a great performance , spurred on by a supportive crowd, but a bad result Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
