Soem observations.....after viewing the game closely on Sportsnetworld
in Canada.
O'dea completely missed his man and allowed the Saints to score. Our
goalkeeper had absolutely no chance to save.
Southampton can thank their lucky stars their goalkeeper played probably
the best game of his career.....sure Leeds' marksmen were useless, but
he made some superb saves.....Leeds could have, should have won by five
or six. Without cheating and looking up the statistics, my guess would
be LU had 80 % of the play.
Re the so-called crowd - pathetic. I don't care if Bates is the alleged
owner of this club.......the chance was there to show the new manager
there is support for the players, be they good or useless. Under
21-thousand for a game of this stature....one club leading the league,
the other allegedly fighting for a playoff spot, tells me one thing -
Leeds is not supportive of a so-called first class team.....hells bells,
Sheffield has two teams and gets as much support as LU does. I asked, a
few days ago, about the once capacity of 40,006. Today, both sides of
the field were virtually empty.
Yes, full behind the goals...but empty seats abounded on both
sides.....a place I'd prefer, to see both ends of the pitch. Pathetic.
If Leeds is trying to hurt Bates in the pocketbook...its working....but
when a game featuring Leeds United is being shown virtually worldwide on
TV, we who live elsewhere really wonder what the hell is going on.
This idea of singing WACCOE is a bit off don't you think......just how
long ago was that? will it ever happen again? I doubt it in our lifetime!
