Interesting you should say that, as I have only noticed the stewarding once in
the South Stand, and never asked to sit down like I was all the time in the
north. But then the people in the south tend to sit down quite often, so maybe
they don’t have to be asked.

On the occasion I came into contact with south stand jobsworth stewarding, I
was asked, rather stupidly in my opinion, to retake my own seat with five mins
to go. On the way back from the loo, I stood at the top of the aisle, happy to
watch the final moments from that location, but was asked to return to my seat.
I sat down in the nearest empty seat, but was asked if that was mine and when
said no was told to go back to my actual own. Most pedantic. And as mine was
in the middle of the row a ball ache for all.

I thought West Ham created a good atmosphere on Saturday. There was plenty of
banter between us and them. First time that’s happened that I’ve seen since
the away fans were moved in to teh West Stand. Can’t say, atmosphere-wise,
that’s been a successful move. Might have let Bates charge an extra few quid,
but it’s had a detrimental effect on the atmos.

part of the problem with that Dave, is the bloody stewarding in the North
Stand, which does its utmost to make you sit down even if Leeds are attacking
the Kop end, 5 minutes to go, looking for the winning goal (a purely imaginary
scenario, you understand)...
