Unless (And I'm very open to someone putting me straight here) I'm totally reading it wrong, but this is completely the opposite angle! The central question is Why are we doing this and Who, if anyone, is the good guy? There are a number of referneces that suggest the masses are being told the whole 'Good American Bad Muslim' line because the powers that be need this in place (a sort of 21st Century religious suppression and control), the internet has removed the need for suppression from above and basically, left to their own devices, An Al Quida fighter can get on quite famously with An All American hero if you chop out the brainwashing powers that be. I thought it was quite clever to be honest!
