After hearing many people rave about it, I finally took the plunge with 24 a while back. I enjoyed Season 1, less so Season 2 and gave up on Season 3 after about 5 episodes. Since others are giving their recommendations... of the current crop of US dramas that we watch, the missus & I quite enjoy Blue Bloods. Does nothing you haven't seen before, but does it better than most. She enjoys G.C.B. and Hart of Dixie as well. Not sure if they're on in the UK yet though. I watch loads of US comedies too - for me, Modern Family continues to be the pick of the bunch.
