Rich,
I was there. We were at best a very poor outfit tonight. We endeavoured
to defend from the outset and we're lucky to go in one nil up at half
time. The defence is much better than last season, the young lad byram
could turn out to be a star man, but a good defence imho, needs a good
outlet and that outlet was left on the bench till late on. So we hoofed
the ball up towards becchio (rarely to him, just into the general
direction) and Blackpool invariably passed and moved it thru our
midfield like it wasn't there. On the rare occasions we did get it into
our midfield, varney would fuck it up or noone would go looking to
   receive a pass.
The substitutions.... Mutterings of WTF when Pugh came on for white.
I'm no fan of Pugh but he did go looking for the ball 3 times in 10
mins, each time he picked it up and ran at Blackpool and they backed
off him a couple of times, unfortunately the rest of the team just
seemed to watch him run and offered little support.
Diouf for mcCormack.. I just didn't get that one... I'd of taken varney
off, or done a double sub and took becchio off and given gray a go.
Becchio had a couple of headed half chances, defended when he had to
and spent the rest of the time chasing lost causes. Diouf is a class
above the rest of the squad, makes space when he has the ball, looks
almost casual in his approach but doesn't panic and boot it up the
pitch like every other fucker did tonight.
Tactically it wasn't dissimilar to the wolves game, the difference
being Blackpool were a far superior side. If Colin thinks he can win an
8th promotion using the tactics he employed tonight, he's mistaken,
he'll be looking for another job by Xmas
