I,m with Matt.......it was also my first game of the season live, and I thought wew were worthy winners. The first 30 mins were awful and we were marginally the poorer side. When they scored, I couldn't,t see how we could get a goal back. But for the last ten mins of the first half we suddenly started knocking the ball around with a bit of composure. Becchio,s first was astonishing.....a spectacular strike with his wrong foot. Two superb goals in 4days........I am starting to change my mind about him! The second half was a really good game of football.......much more open with both sides really going for it. I thought we deserved the winner, although I was never content when they were attacking. I much preferred our shape with Peltier a RBI, Byram in mf.
Outstanding players for me were Diouff and Tonge. At the end of the match, Diouff slowly walked the length of the pitch, milking the applause from the e stand, then took off his shirt and gave it to someone a the front of the Kop. Then he posed for a couple of pictures with some fans. I love that man! Sewer rat my arse!
