The single most significant factor today was playing McCormack in his proper
position. He could have had a hat trick.

I am not going to have a pop at anyone because I thought the attitude and
commitment was immense. It should be for every game.

I thought Byram was really good against Bale, yes he got skinned a few times
but he kept battling away and made some great tackles on him. Aidy White
beating Bale for pace was great to see too. I'm with Rich all the way, I
thought Diouf, Varney and McCormack worked well together. With both goals my
first thought was "Becchio would never have been able to do that." I really
hope that's the last of him but actually I fear he won't go in the transfer
window and Warnock will start playing him again.
Brown was captain and he played a captain's game, should be captain full time.
He's an "enforcer" i.e. a nasty little piece of work but he broke up their
midfield, had the measure of Parker for the whole game. Peltier was my MOTM
just for that mazing challenge in the dying moments of the game.
Anyway, Rich and Rob said it all, 11 heroes tonight. I really hope this is the
starting line up from now on.
